Sony HDW-F900H
High Definition CineAlta-Camcorder

High Resolution
2.2 million pixels per colour allow astonishing resolution without any need for electronic enhancement.

Switchable frame rates
Switchable 23.98, 24, 25, 29.94 and 30 frames per second (fps) progressive, and 50, 59.94 and 60 Hz interlace. The first ever world wide universal format camcorder.

Film rate compatible
Perfect one to one frame relationship for transferring back to film for cinematic release.

Long recording time on a single video tape cassette
50 minute recording per video tape cassette at 24 frames per second.

Fully compatible with all film camera accessories

Camera effects
Many powerful in camera effects, whose set-ups can be stored on removeable memory (Memory stick™).

12 bit DSP
12 bit A/D conversion and DSP. Allows fine control of gamma in any part of the picture and ensures wide and smooth contrast range control.

TruEye™ processing
Allows full and natural colour reproduction even in highlights.

Highly efficient compression
Based on statistical picture analysis, this allows an extremely rugged yet compact camcorder to be made, based on the HDCAM format.

Many features similar to Digital Betacam™
Allows an easy transition to HDCAM shooting.

Memory stick™ for set-up
Can store up to 5 camera scene files, and all other operator and camera settings.

Two assignable buttons
Easy access to most frequently used functions. Typically 'Rec start' and 'Rec review' (equivalent to checking the gate in a film camera).

Multi matrix
For fine adjustment of colours, especially when combined with wide gamut matrix.

Safe area markers
All safe area markers including 2.4 anamorphic are available. In addition any size markers can be added to the viewfinder dependant upon the final distribution format.

'Panavision' compatibility
Compatible with all Panavision accessories (Full details from your local Panavision representative).

Variable shutter speeds
Many shutter speeds are possible. For example 1/48 second at 24 fps; equivalent to 180-degree film shutter, and giving identical motion portrayal to a film camera. Shutter speed ranges from less than 10 degrees to virtually 360 degrees (fully open at all the times due to the fact that electronic 'pull down' duration is negligable).

Compatible with Angenieux cine lens adapter
This allows a wide range of Zeiss Ultra Primes to be used. Requires optional picture inversion board HKDW-902.

300 ISO equivalent speed, at 24 FPS and 1/48 shutter
This becomes 600 ISO if the shutter is turned off, equivalent to 360 degree opening. In 60i mode, this is equivalent to f10 sensitivity.

Single frame recording
For animation and time lapse recording. A minimum of 3 seconds between each single frame capture must be allowed.

Full colour playback
Allows full quality reviews, including 4 tracks of digital audio, on location.
