Sony J-30/J30SDI VTR

Sony J30/J30SDI VTR

Compact player for your desk.
The compact design makes the J-30 ideal for personal, desk-top use. It has all the features required for viewing, logging and feeding material to a non-linear editing system. The J-30 Compact Player can replay Digital Betacam, MPEG IMX, Betacam SX, Betacam SP and Betacam tapes and has i-Link, analogue composite and component, S-VHS and analogue audio outputs.

Low cost player for office viewing and feeding to non-linear edit systems
The J-30 uses new design and construction techniques to produce a cost effective tape player.

Compact size for your desk
The J-30 is about the size of a telephone directory. It can fit on the desks of busy producers, journalists and editors. It operates equally well used horizontally or standing upright using the supplied vertical stand.

Feeder for nonlinear editing systems
The J-30 can be remotely controlled using RS422 and i.LINK, and its analogue component and 25Mb/s i.LINK output make it ideal for connection to logging and non-linear editing systems. The J-30 has not, however, been designed for linear online editing or on-air usage, or for applications where 100% guaranteed frame accurate playback is required.

625/525 switchable for international use
The J-30 can playback tapes recorded either in 625 or 525 line standards. Signal output is the same line standard as the tape (i.e. no standards conversion is performed).

Choice of outputs
The J-30 video outputs are i.Link, analogue composite, analogue component and S-VHS. Audio output is analogue or via the i.Link interface.

Playback of Digital Betacam, MPEG IMX, Betacam SX, Betacam SP and Betacam tapes
During cassette loading the tape format is identified automatically.

Playback of large or small Betacam cassettes
The J-30 can replay both small and large cassettes. This provides a replay time of over 3 hours from Betacam SX and MPEG IMX tapes.

Infra red remote control
An infra red remote controller is supplied with each J-30. Tapes can be cued and reviewed from the comfort of your armchair.

Choice of vertical or horizontal use
The J-30 can be stood vertically (on its side) on your desk next to your PC keyboard and monitor. A vertical stand is supplied with each player to maximise space during desktop use.
